RAID-Monitor: intestinal inflammation test

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is a disease that causes inflammatory processes in the digestive tract. It is estimated to affect more than 2.5 million people in Europe and 1 million in the United States.

Both Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis are part of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Both pathologies are chronic and alternate periods of active inflammation with periods of re-emission, so they require a continuous assessment of activity to address the patient in a personalized way.

Thanks to more than 20 years of research, from GoodGut we have developed an innovative test capable of determining the state of activity of the intestinal mucosa in patients with IBD in a non-invasive, accurate, reliable and comfortable way, reducing the number of colonoscopies to be performed for the follow-up of patients suffering from the disease.

Would you like us to let you know when it’s available?

Inflammatory bowel disease is associated with alterations in the intestinal microbiota

The balance between the immune system and the microbiota is altered in inflammatory bowel diseases triggering an inadequate inflammatory response, leading to a loss of balance in the intestinal microbiota. RAID-Monitor determines a specific microbiological signature that correlates significantly with the state of activity of the intestinal mucosa, providing non-invasive monitoring of the disease.

The bacterial DNA in your sample will be analyzed in our laboratory using more than one hundred quantitative PCR reactions. The specific bacterial signature associated with internal malt activity has been defined and validated through clinical studies, with a healthy reference population compared to a population of patients with active or remitting Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
