RAID-Dx: Irritable Bowel Syndrome test

It is common in the current population to suffer from intestinal discomfort. Irritable Bowel Syndrome is one of the most common and difficult to diagnose diseases. Since the cause is still unknown, the diagnosis can take between 1 and 5 years. However, it has been shown that there is a relationship with the intestinal microbiota.

Thanks to more than 20 years of research from GoodGut, we have developed a non-invasive test that specifically diagnoses Irritable Bowel Syndrome, identifying those alterations in the microbiota that can reveal the presence of the disease.

Who is RAID-Dx aimed at?

Anyone with any of these symptoms:

Recurrent abdominal pain

Chronic and / or intermittent constipation

Chronic and / or intermittent diarrhea

Diarrhea and alternating constipation

RAID-Dx can help you find an explanation for your bowel discomfort by providing a more accurate diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrome and taking the right steps to improve your well-being in a personalized way.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is associated with alterations in the intestinal microbiota

Although the origin and mechanisms involved in this disease are unknown, there is growing evidence of the presence of alterations in the intestinal microbiota of these patients.

RAID-Dx provides detailed information on indicator microorganisms, both favorable and unfavorable for intestinal health. This analysis determines the presence of the specific microbial signature of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, to establish an accurate diagnosis. In addition, the report includes the most informative values of your state of health, which facilitates personalized treatment.

The bacterial DNA in your sample will be analyzed in our laboratory using more than one hundred quantitative PCR reactions. The microbial signature of Irritable Bowel Syndrome has been defined and validated through clinical studies, with a healthy reference population compared to a symptomatic population, with or without the disease. In addition, the most informative values are accompanied by validated reference values to obtain a detailed profile of your state of health.

Interpretation of results

In just 1 week of receiving the sample, you will receive the results report by email. Here is an example.

It is usually diagnosed based on clinical criteria (Rome IV Criteria) that are associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. However, before confirming the diagnosis, a series of invasive tests such as colonoscopy are required to rule out the presence of severe digestive pathologies such as Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis. If these tests are negative, these symptoms are associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome or Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

The usual procedure is based on associating the patient’s symptoms with clinical criteria to establish an initial suspicion of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. However, other invasive tests are needed to rule out other severe digestive diseases that may have the same symptoms. RAID-Dx, on the other hand, is a non-invasive test that specifically diagnoses Irritable Bowel Syndrome, thus saving the need for additional tests to confirm the diagnosis, allowing the appropriate treatment to be prescribed more quickly.

We recommend taking the test every year to have a more thorough check of the condition of the markers of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Yes, we have no scientific evidence that the stomach protector interferes with test results.
